Counselling for adults in Chester, Tarporley and Frodsham, Cheshire. Online nationwide.
Hello I'm Helen,
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in a range of roles, including many years as a secondary school teacher in both the UK and Asia. I am also a third culture kid, and grew up and living in different countries and continents. These experiences have shaped how I see the world and deepened my understanding of individual identity and the unique paths we each walk.
Supporting others has always been at the heart of what I do. With a natural empathy and deep care for people, I offer a calm, non-judgemental space where clients feel heard, valued, and supported. My work is grounded in compassion and a belief in each person’s ability to heal and grow.
In my private practice, and through my work as a counsellor with a charity in the North West, I support individuals facing grief, loss, anxiety, and life transitions—including those navigating bereavement by suicide. I believe in meeting each person where they are, creating a space to explore and move forward at a pace that feels right for them.
"People are just as wonderful as sunsets if I can let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don't find myself saying, "Soften the orange a little on the right-hand corner, and put a bit more purple along the base, and use a little more pink in the cloud colour." I don't do that. I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch it with awe as it unfolds." Carl Rogers
