I'm Helen (she/her)
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a teacher, supporting students both academically and emotionally. Growing up 6,000 miles from my birthplace and living in various countries as an adult, these diverse experiences have profoundly shaped who I am today. The challenges I’ve faced, combined with my training and connections, have strengthened my belief in the uniqueness of each individual. I firmly believe that everyone has the ability to discover and follow their own path.
Helping and supporting others has always been a deep part of who I am. I have a natural empathy and genuine care for people and animals alike—I can’t stand to see any living being in pain.
As a teacher, students often told me how approachable I was, how much I truly listened, and how deeply I cared about their dreams and aspirations. Becoming a counsellor felt like the natural next step—a true vocation for me. I genuinely love what I do and I am committed to supporting others on their journey to healing and growth. As a counsellor my clients tell me that they feel listened to, feel a calmness from me and they can sense that I genuinely care.
I am here to offer you a compassionate and safe environment to explore your concerns, whether you are seeking assistance in achieving a particular goal, having a personal struggle, or navigating through the impact of a significant life event or a bereavement.
Alongside my private work, I am privileged to work as a counsellor for large charitable organisation in the north west of the UK, helping clients with a range of presenting issues and particularly support individuals who have experienced domestic violence and those bereaved by suicide.
I am a qualified person centred counsellor and registered with the BACP.
I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for Counsellng Professions, attend monthly supervison and continue with my professional learning. I am fully insured, registered with the ICO and hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
