Counselling for adults in Chester, Cheshire. Online nationwide.
I offer 1:1 person-centred counselling for adults experiencing emotional, relational, and life challenges. This includes anxiety, stress, grief, trauma, and periods of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain. You do not need to have a clear reason for coming to counselling. Many people begin when something no longer feels right, and they want space to understand themselves more deeply. This is a space where you can slow down, reflect, and explore what is going on for you at your own pace.
I offer a consistent relationship where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted as you are. I believe each person has their own capacity for understanding themselves and finding their way forward.

Alongside my counselling training, I have completed the Breathing for Calm course with Nicola Potts.
Where appropriate and always with your consent, I may gently introduce simple breath awareness techniques to support grounding and emotional regulation. When we feel anxious, our breathing often becomes shallow and fast, which can intensify feelings of overwhelm. Working gently with the breath can sometimes support the nervous system to settle and create a greater sense of steadiness in difficult moments.
This is always optional and guided by what feels right for you.

An introductory call is the first step in getting to know one another and exploring whether working together feels like a good fit for you. We will talk about what has brought you to counselling, what you are hoping for, and anything you feel is important for me to understand. I will also explain how I work as a person-centred counsellor and how counselling sessions typically work. You are welcome to ask any questions, and there is no pressure to decide anything straight away.
If you choose to begin counselling with me, there is nothing you need to prepare. Each session is your space. You can bring whatever feels present for you that day, whether that is something specific or a more general sense of anxiety, overwhelm, low mood, or feeling stuck. We will work with whatever feels most important to you in that moment, at a pace that feels manageable. My role is to offer a steady, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your experience in your own way.
After your first session, we will usually agree to meet weekly, although fortnightly sessions can also be arranged depending on your needs. Counselling is flexible and can be reviewed together as we go. Every so often, we will pause to reflect on how the work is feeling, what feels helpful, what feels difficult, and whether anything needs to shift. This helps ensure the process stays supportive and relevant to you.

Over time, through being consistently heard and supported, you may begin to notice small but meaningful changes, such as:
feeling more grounded or settled; greater understanding of your thoughts and emotions; feeling less alone with what you are carrying; increased awareness of patterns in relationships or behaviour; a stronger sense of connection to yourself and your needs.
Change tends to unfold gradually, rather than all at once
